Police still investigating death of burns baby

Tokoroa police are continuing inquiries into the death of a toddler taken to Tokoroa Hospital with severe burns last month.

Twenty-two month old Tyla-Maree Flynn was admitted to the hospital's emergency department on June 29 but died shortly after.

Detective Sergeant Kevan Verry said today police were still trying to find out what happened.

A team of police was speaking with witnesses and several had been re-interviewed.

Police were still awaiting final results of medical examinations and 'forensic testing of various items'.

"These results could still be several weeks away," he said.
