Police seeking Christchurch man John Old missing for a week

A Christchurch man has gone missing for a week, sparking fears for his safety.

Police are seeking 58-year-old John Old of Mairehau.

He was reported missing on Thursday afternoon. He last spoke to family last Saturday, after flying into Christchurch Airport that morning.

It is believed that Old is in the Canterbury area, possibly the high country lakes.

Police said they were concerned for his wellbeing

Old is described as a slim, 1.67m tall man with short grey hair and a short white beard.

Any information on his whereabouts since last Saturday afternoon, or sightings of him, should be reported to 111.
