A 75-year-old man was punched repeatedly in the face and head by two attackers on Saturday in Masterton.
The elderly Indian man was left with serious injuries after a man and woman confronted him demanding money on Perry St just after 5.30pm.
He was walking east along the street, pastnumber 37, when he was attacked. After the assault the offenders ran off towards Cole Street and since then have not been found yet.
Wairarapa Police are seeking information about and any witnesses to the serious assault.
The male attacker is described as Caucasian, around 18-years-old and of slim build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with some form of pattern or writing on the front, and long pants.
The woman is described as Maori, around 18-years-old, with a slim build and black hair in a bun. She was wearing a long sleeved dark patterned top, dark long pants and carrying a satchel type bag.
