"The only update is that he's still missing and we're still looking for him," police spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said.
Evan Phillips said the family was extremely worried and had reported his disappearance to Glen Innes police.
His father changed clothes and left the house during the night but they did not know what he was wearing.
His car, scooter, wallet and phone were left behind.
"He's an outstanding father and husband, he's intelligent, kind, and I've never known anyone to work as hard as him," Evan Phillips said.
"Though I know he worries about providing for us he's never let us down in any way. We love him, and we're worried. All we want to know is that he's okay."
Dean Phillips is of "able mind and body" and was very physically fit for a 59-year-old man, Evan Phillips said.
He had friends outside Auckland but rarely travelled outside the city, he said.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about him to come forwards.
