Christchurch police are hunting a man they describe as dangerous who escaped from custody last night.
Ryan Edward Tritt, 22, was arrested on warrants yesterday, but fled from Christchurch Central police station last night.
Detective Sergeant Don Fisher said today Tritt, who may be heading south toward Dunedin, was considered
dangerous and should be not approached.
He warned that any person aiding and abetting a prisoner to elude capture could be charged.
Tritt is a pakeha, 1.84m tall, of medium build, with brown hair.
No other details of his escape were available.
