Police investigating the suspected killing of Wanganui man Whetu Hansen are appealing for sightings of a second vehicle.
Mr Hansen, 48, has been missing since November 24 and police launched a homicide investigation earlier this month.
He was seen driving a grey primer-coloured 1980 Ford ute, registration JM9538, on the day he went missing.
Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison said police were now also seeking sightings of a 1981 mint green Mitsubishi wooden flat deck ute between November 23 and December 5.
"This vehicle has recently come up as part of our inquiries and we believe that it may play an important role in helping us solve this investigation."
A scene examination of Mr Hansen's Linton property was in its final stages and expected to be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
"We have had some valuable information from the public so far, of which we are grateful for, but we call upon their assistance again in light of this second vehicle," Mr Harrison said.
"I encourage anyone that has any information about this vehicle to contact police."
Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Dave Wilson on (06) 213 9595 or to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
