Save Two youths are in custody and police are searching for three others after an aggravated robbery in central Wellington overnight.
Five youths held up a 24-hour convenience store in Manners Street just before 2am, Acting Senior Sergeant Nick Thom said.
They assaulted the store's staff member with a pipe-like weapon
before taking money from the cash register.
They then left the store on foot, Mr Thom said.
Police have arrested two 16-years-olds in relation to the incident and they will appear in the Wellington Youth Court today.
