Police search for heavily pregnant woman

Police have serious concerns for the safety of a heavily pregnant woman who has been missing in Auckland for more than two days.

Puawai Morgan, 23, was due to give birth yesterday.

She was last seen in West City Henderson on January 31 and is now believed to be in Central Auckland.

Waitematä Mental Health Services reported her missing.

Police said Ms Morgan has not been seen by family members or turned up at places where she has sought refuge in the past.

They appealed for sightings or information on the missing woman.

She is described as Maori, 157cms tall, with dark hair and wearing what is believed to be a white hooded jumper and a "rough looking" pair of white shorts.
