Police rush to crashes in Levin and Thames - one dead

Police have been called to two crashes this evening and one person has died.
One person died shortly after a collision on SH26 in Thames just after 8pm. The road was closed and motorists asked to avoid the area.
The serious crash unit has been advised.
In Levin about 9.10pm
a car careered off Kawiu Rd and flipped upside down in a ditch.
A police spokeswoman did not believe anyone was seriously injured. She thought the car may have hit a tree.
