Police probe motorway death

Police are still talking to witnesses after a man was hit and killed by a truck on Auckland's southern motorway yesterday.

The man died instantly when he was hit by a truck and trailer unit under the Te Irirangi Drive overbridge near Manukau shortly after 1pm.

Police said today that the man had yet to be formally identified. It was not known how he came to be on foot on the motorway.
