Police operation in Central Otago ends with man with axe arrested

Police were called to an address on Lowburn Valley Rd, near Cromwell at 5.46pm.

A 21-year-old male armed with an axe has been taken into police custody.

Police were called to an address on Lowburn Valley Rd, near Cromwell at 5.46pm.

The man was taken into custody about 7.40pm.

A police spokesman said no one was injured in the incident.
