A homicide probe has been launched after the unexplained death of a Hastings woman last month.

Inspector Martin James said police investigating the death of a 37-year-old woman in a residential address are now treating her death as a homicide.

Emergency services were called to an address in Kotuku St, Camberley, on October 29, where the woman was found dead.

An investigation immediately commenced to establish how she had died.

James said police continue to provide support to her family at this difficult time.

“A committed team of detectives has been assigned to the investigation, including additional staff from other districts.

“We believe there are people in our community who have vital information about this matter and the people involved,” he said.

James said police urge anyone who may know anything to come forward.
