Police offload passengers at Auckland Airport

Police remained tight-lipped after a security alert this afternoon at Auckland Airport.

They would give very few details of the alert, refusing to confirm whether the security problem affected international or domestic passengers.

Airport police senior sergeant Matt Sillars said passengers on two flights had been offloaded and re-screened after police received information.

Air New Zealand spokeswoman Rosie Paul said none of the airline's flights had been affected.
