Police officer bitten by dog in raid

A police officer was bitten on the thigh by a dog near Christchurch today.

Two officers were called to a property in Rolleston and one of them was allegedly attacked by a man inside the house.

During the scuffle a policewoman was bitten on the thigh by a dog, and was treated for puncture wounds.

Two people were arrested and charged with assault, and are expected to appear in court tomorrow.
