Waikato police have released the name of a motorcyclist killed on State Highway 1 south of Hamilton on Monday.
He was 66-year-old Cambridge man, Keith Gordon Hooper.
Mr Hooper died after his motorbike and a station wagon collided on SH1 at Tamahere.
Waikato road policing manager Inspector Freda Grace saidthe cause of the crash was still under investigation but police were asking any witnesses to contact Sergeant Warren Shaw of the Te Awamutu Strategic Traffic Unit on 07 872 0146.
Mrs Grace said road safety was everybody's responsibility.
"These aren't just empty words, what we're asking is that every driver considers the consequences of their driving behaviour; whether it is speeding, failing to comply with intersection rules, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failing to stop or fleeing police or of any rash decision they may make."
Mr Cooper is the third motorcyclist to die on Waikato's roads in just over a week.
Hamilton man Allan Lloyd Tugby died after his bike and a truck collided on SH1, Pairere last Tuesday, while Raglan man Nathan William Nolan died after crashing his motorbike following a police chase during the early hours of Sunday morning.
