Police name man killed in Waikato crash

Police have released the name of a Thames man killed in a two-vehicle crash near Maramarua, Waikato, yesterday morning.

Bruce Graeme McCallum, 69, was a passenger in a car which collided with a with the rear of a stationary truck on State Highway 2, north of Okaeria Rd, around 5am.

The driver and another passenger in the car remain in Waikato Hospital with serious injuries. Police said the truck driver was not injured.

Sergeant Juliet Burgess of Huntly said police were keen to speak to anyone who saw the crash, that occurred around 5am yesterday. A truck driver stopped to assist at the scene, but police believe other motorists may have seen the crash.
