Police name man killed by train

Police today named a man who was killed when he was struck by a train in Manawatu on Sunday.

He was John Ashley Graeme Prouse, 52, of Cheltenham, 13km northeast of Feilding.

Mr Prouse was lying between the tracks near the Maewa station, north of Feilding, when a northbound freight train rounded a bend and hit him about 9pm.
