Police name man killed by tarseal truck

A road worker who died after he was run over by a tarseal spraying truck north-east of Hamilton on Thursday was today named by police as Graham Donald Bennie, 55, of Huntly.

Mr Bennie was hit by the truck on Woodlands Rd and died at the scene.

Police said they were still investigating the accident.

Mr Bennie was a well respected, 30-year veteran of the construction industry, Sergeant Juliet Burgess of the Huntly Strategic Traffic Unit said.

His death has been referred to the coroner.
