A good Samaritan tried to save the life of a man who collapsed in Takanini and now police want to thank him.
The man came to the aid of another man outside the Westpac Bank on Great South Rd in Takanini about 2pm today.
The ill man died despite the good Samaritan starting CPR before emergency services arrived./
Police would like to identify the good Samaritan and speak to him about what happened and also to thank him for his efforts.
