Police investigation after child hit by vehicle on Matakana Valley Rd, Matakana

A child is in a serious condition after being hit by a vehicle in Matakana.

The Serious Crash Unit was called to Matakana Valley Rd just after 5.30pm yesterday after reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew the child to Auckland City Hospital, where they remain in a serious condition. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
