Police are investigating the unexplained death of a three-month-old baby in Porirua on Tuesday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Kevan Verry said a scene examination is underway at the property on Warspite Ave.

"Police are working with the family and medical experts to try to determine the cause of death," Verry said.
