Police are investigating a possible attempted abduction of a child from a hotel carpark in Christchurch.
The Governors Bay Hotel posted about the incident on its Facebook page on Friday night.
The post said there was an attempted abduction of a 9-year-old girl from its car park about 4.20pm on Thursday.
The post said the young girl was playing with other children when a man in a "red shiny expensive looking car" stopped, got out and grabbed her arm.

The girl fought off her attacker and the all of the children ran into the hotel.
Hotel staff said CCTV footage had been handed to police who were investigating.
