Police investigate stabbing in Onehunga

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed several times in an incident in Auckland overnight.

A 15-year-old boy is also being treated for injuries. It is not clear if he was stabbed in the incident.

Police said they were called to reports of a serious assault on Trafalgar St, about 3am today.

"A 36-year-old male is in a serious condition in hospital after receiving a number of stab wounds, while a 15-year-old male was also being treated for injuries.''

A 16-year-old boy is speaking to police in relation to the incident.

No one else is being sought, authorities said.

"Police are still in the early stages of the investigation, and staff are speaking with a number of witnesses who were at the address to determine what exactly occurred."
