Police are investigating the death of a 53-year-old Masterton man while snorkeling near White Rock, on the South Wairarapa coast, yesterday afternoon.
Sergeant Mike Sutton said the man was snorkeling with a family member, and was already dead when he was pulled from the water.
The incident was reported atabout 3pm.
It's the second public holiday drowning in Wairarapa this month, after a 22-year-old Fijian man drowned while swimming at Akitio beach on Easter Monday.
