Save Police are investigating reports that a bedroom fire in south Auckland today was started by a person pouring petrol on the floor and igniting it.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation after the fire on East Tamaki Rd, Papatoetoe, at about 4.30pm, a Fire Service spokesman said.
They did
not require hospital treatment.
The person who called 111, who wasn't from the address, told the operator that someone had poured petrol on the floor and lit it, the spokesman said.
This had not been confirmed.
