Police investigate care facility death

Police are investigating the death of a 38-year-old man in a Hamilton private care facility.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton said a post-mortem yesterday revealed that further investigations were necessary.

"A part of these investigations will be work to establish circumstances leading up to the man's death and it's too early to comment on any other aspects at this stage," Mr Thornton said.

Police were called to the Dinsdale facility around 8pm Saturday, and the post-mortem was conducted in Auckland.

The man's death has been reported to the Coroner.
