Police investigate after shooting in Wellington

Police are investigating a shooting after a man was discovered with wounds at a Wellington property yesterday.

A man is being treated for "unexplained" injuries after a firearms incident at Whites Line East, Waiwhetu.

Police say they were called to the area at 5pm on Thursday after a report of a firearms offence.

They found a man with unexplained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Investigations were underway today into the incident.

An ambulance spokesman said the man was taken to Hutt Hospital with moderate injuries.
