Police hunt two suspects over robbery spree in Manukau

Police are searching for two men who went on a robbery spree in South Auckland on Sunday.

The pair, in hooded tops and caps, robbed three petrol stations armed with a sawn-off rifle.

Detective Sergeant John Love said police are appealing for any sightings of the pair or information about them.

"This looks like two people who have gone on a bit of a robbery spree with a gun."

The pair first showed up at a BP station in Ridge Rd, Howick, at 5.55pm and demanded money while pointing the gun at staff.

The duo were next sighted just before 9pm, when they entered the Mobil station in Great South Rd, Manurewa.

The pair then hit their third and final target, the GAS station in Papatoetoe, around 10.30pm.

Mr Love said the younger of the two appeared to act as a lookout during the robberies.

No one was injured during the robbery spree.

The men the police are looking for had dark hair.

One was wearing a khaki-coloured cap and pants and a black-hooded jacket.

The younger man was wearing a blue checked jumper, a black cap and sweatpants. Anyone with information about the robbers can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.

Mr Love said police were still gathering footage of the vehicle the robbers used during their spree, and would release more information once they could confirm it.
