Police hunt domestic violence offender

Lower Hutt Police are yet to find a dangerous domestic violence offender who as two warrants for his arrest.

Danny Mooney, 44, is wanted for breaching a protection order on January 19 in Lower Hutt and for failing to appear in Kaikoura District Court on a cannabis related charge on January 28.

Mooney was known to be in the Lower Hutt and Wellington region last week but was believed to have connections to people in Waikato, Wanganui and Christchurch.

A police spokesman said they were yet to find Mooney.

Police said Mooney was a high risk offender and should not be approached.
