Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting of a herd of pet goats in Pōkeno to come forward.
An investigation has been opened after the discovery of 18 dead goats at a Ridge Rd property this month.
Counties Manukau south area investigations manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Natalie Nelson, said the animals’ bodies had been left in a fenced-in paddock.
Investigators believe the goats were killed by one or multiple people on the night of April 13 and they were likely accompanied by a dog.
“We are appealing to the public for any information in relation to this incident,” Nelson said.
“There will be people in the community who know who is responsible for this and we urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Police have asked witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch through 105, either online or over the phone using reference number 260414/7001.
Members of the public can also report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
