Police have found a missing seven-year-old Wellington girl but are yet to find her father.
A search was mounted after Lau Leota fled with his daughter following an altercation at her home in Linden, Tawa, Tuesday night.
Detective Sergeant Dan Keno, of the District Child Protection Team, said Mr Leota returned the girl to her home this evening and vanished again.
"We are yet to speak to this young girl but we can confirm she doesn't appear to need urgent medical attention," he said.
The hunt was continuing for Mr Leota who was believed to still be somewhere in the Wellington district.
Mr Keno urged Mr Leota to phone police as soon as possible to resolve the matter.
Mr Leota was believed to be driving a red 1987 Toyota Corolla with a registration number of UC4702.
