Police find man's body

Police yesterday found the body of a man knocked off a yacht while sailing in Wellington Harbour on Friday night.

Lower Hutt man Brian Lance Balshaw, 50, was hit by the yacht's boom and knocked into the water during a race.

He was not wearing a life jacket when the accident took place near Soames Island.

His fellow crew members tried unsuccessfully to pull him from the water.

Police found his body last night near the site of the accident.
