Police are making inquiries after bones were found on a Far North property.

A police spokesman said it had not been confirmed whether the bones were human or animal.

Police were notified just after 9am this morning after the discovery was made on Taupo Bay Rd in Taupo Bay.

The site would be blessed by iwi before police made further inquiries to see where the bones came from.
