The Police Eagle helicopter has suspended its search for a man missing off Auckland's west coast because of foggy conditions.
A man in his 20s, who's of African descent, was last seen in the water near Lion Rock about 6pm on Saturday.
A second swimmer was rescued that day and
was treated by surf lifesavers at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said it's too rough for surf lifesaving boats to go out.
However, she said they're constantly assessing the situation and will go out as soon as they possibly can.
