A police investigation into a fight at a Mt Eden party that left a 23-year-old man critically injured is continuing.
No arrests have been made and it is understood investigators were still working to interview the 50 or so people at the party, on Bellwood Ave near Eden Park.
The 23-year-old and his brother went to the party after attending the Auckland Nines tournament. He was allegedly assaulted soon after.
He suffered severe head injuries but has made a dramatic recovery and is now awake and speaking. He has been interviewed by police and remains in Auckland City Hospital.
The Herald revealed yesterday that an off-duty police officer was at the party but was not involved in nor did he witness the fight or assault.
