A 19-year-old unlicensed driver who lost control of his car on Bidwill's Cutting Rd in South Wairarapa yesterday morning is now facing police scrutiny into the roadworthiness of his car and driving without supervision.
The man, heading towards Greytown, left the road after rounding a right-angle corner shortly before Wards
Line, at about 8am, colliding with the bank.
Two fire appliances from Greytown and one from Featherston attended the scene.
An ambulance was called but it did not transport the driver.
Greytown station officer Seth Rance said the man had lost control on a wet road.
