A Dunedin man faces four charges after a 25-minute police chase between Owaka and Balclutha yesterday afternoon.
Sergeant Craig Dinnissen of Balclutha police said officers tried to stop a man, believed to be a disqualified driver, near Owaka about 3.30pm.
He then fled, reaching 130km/h and starting a 25-minute chase
along Owaka Highway towards Balclutha, Mr Dinnissen said.
Five police cars were involved in the pursuit, which ended after the man drove over road spikes laid by police.
The man then drove 7km with two flat front tyres, weaving across the road, before the car came to rest in a ditch.
