The theft of a medical bag stolen from a South Auckland medical centre has raised alarms with police due to its contents.
Counties Manukau Police have issued a warning on Facebook after a medical bag was taken from the Clendon Medical Centre, located on Palmers Rd in Manurewa.
Inspector MarkBenefield said at 9.39am on September 20, an unknown male entered the medical centre and proceeded to take the bag and a scanner.
"The bag contained a very strong drug when if taken in the wrong dose can be fatal."
Benefield said there were 24 tablets of the drug, each 7.5 milligrams in size, which are used as a sedative.
