People calling New Zealand's only centre for advice on poisoning treatment are no longer talking to experts in London between midnight and 6am. The Dunedin-based centre now has enough staff to operate 24 hours a day, says National Poisons Centre director Wayne Temple.
The centre, set up in 1964, started diverting night-time calls in September and stopped this month.
The centre had hit a low of four staff at one time, but it now had nine, Dr Temple said.
