Plans to move exams online receives positive feedback

Plans to move students' end of year exams online have prompted positive feedback from schools around the country.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is considering ways of moving more of its services onto the web, including allowing students to complete tests online.

NZQA chief executive Karen Poutasi said the change would make things a lot more efficient for students and staff.

She said the testing would not begin for at least another five years, but initial feedback had been very supportive of the move.

"We are clearly in a digital environment, this is 21st century, students are engaged in 21st century learning.

"So in a way it is us responding to their needs and to the needs of schools.''
