Engine trouble on a light plane prompted a full scale emergency at Hamilton Airport this morning.
Six fire appliances from Hamilton, Cambridge and Te Awamutu responded to the distress call.
However the extra help was turned away before reaching the airport, according to Northern Fire Communications shift manager Megan Ruru.
The Twin Star plane with two people on board, landed safely on the runway around midday, Fairfax reported.
It's understood no one was injured.
