One of New Zealand's most beloved entertainers will be in Masterton this evening - to offer a bit of parenting advice.
Television personality, comedian and father of three Pio Terei will be presenting his show "Parenting Teenagers with Pio" at Masterton Town Hall. Terei, who regularly travels the country givingpresentations on parenting, will offer strategies on how to survive the turbulent teenage years and provide positive home environments.
Event organiser Jane Mills, of Wairarapa DHB, said his show will be informative and entertaining for parents.
"Teens do come with a lot of challenges, and parents can always do with more support," she said.
"At Pio's show, parents will be able to learn some new strategies in a generous, entertaining environment.
"Pio is very funny, but he also knows what he's talking about."
Ms Mills said Terei's presentation will focus on understanding a teenager's culture, filling a child's "emotional tank" with words and affection, teaching teenagers about healthy boundaries and habits, and creating positive home environments.
"According to Pio, parenting is never dull," said Ms Mills.
