The four major petrol companies have raised prices 5c a litre this week.
A Caltex spokeswoman says the increase is partly due to the lower NZ dollar, but "mostly because of what is happening in the prices of fuel in the Singapore market".
The price of 91-octane fuel at BP, Caltex, Mobil and Shell is now $1.78 a litre.
