Petrol price edges closer to $2

All the big fuel companies have increased fuel prices today.

BP, Shell and Caltex have raised the price of petrol by three cents a litre taking 91 to $1.95 and 95 to $2.02.

Diesel prices have increased by two cents at Caltex taking it to $1.30 and by four cents at Shell taking the price to $1.32.

Gull';s General Manager David Bodger says it comes on the back of increases last week and just before Christmas.

He says Gull will hold prices until at least the weekend.
