Pet store held up with sawn-off shotgun

Police are calling for sightings of a people-mover after robbers held up a Lower Hutt pet store with a sawn-off shotgun this morning.

The offenders entered the Lower Hutt branch of Animates on 26 Rutherford Street, at about 8.20am.

It's not known what, if anything, was taken,

A police spokeswoman appealed for sightings of a silver Toyota Opa Hatchback, described as a people mover, with the registration FQD205, believed to have been the getaway vehicle.
