Person stabbed in Rotorua home invasion

A person is believed to have been stabbed in a home invasion in Rotorua earlier today.

Emergency services were called to a house on Hodgkins St, at 10.46am, Inspector Ian Brooker said.

He said one person was taken to hospital with "life threatening" injuries.

However, police were still working to determine what had happened, Mr Brooker said.

"There is someone there with injuries consistent with that [home invasion] but whether or not there is anyone else involved, we don't know.

"As to the validity of what was told to us on the phone I can't comment at all, they [police] are making enquiries at the moment."
