A person has been seriously injured in a two-car crash in Waverley in Taranaki this afternoon.
Police were alerted to the crash at 5.24pm and are at the scene at the Weraroa Rd and Chester St intersection.
Central Fire Communications shift manager Chris Dalton said fire crew had to
rescue one person from the vehicle as they were trapped.
The rescue helicopter was on its way from New Plymouth to airlift the person to Whanganui Hospital.
