A person has been rescued uninjured from a ledge high on Lion Rock at west Auckland's Piha Beach.
The person was trapped on the narrow ledge about 25m off the ground, a Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said.
Emergency services were called at 6.53pm and two fire appliances were sent
to the scene.
Fire fighters climbed the rock and helped guide the person to a safe spot and back onto the pathway, she said.
The person had no injuries and was able to walk back down the rock, she said.
