A person has been injured in a house fire in West Auckland.

Fire and Emergency NZ was alerted to the fire on Henderson Valley Rd just before 9pm.

A Fire and Emergency spokesman said one person had suffered smoke inhalation, and had been taken to hospital.

He said the back of the house was "well involved" in fire.

A total of five crews were battling the blaze.
