Person dies in incident at Middlemore Hospital in South Auckland

A person has died after an incident at Middlemore Hospital around 9pm this evening.

Counties Manukau senior sergeant Ian Brenchley said a small area of the South Auckland hospital was cordoned off but the hospital was still open to patients and was operating normally.

"There is no ongoing danger or concern for anyone, and there are no ongoing problems," he said.

Police are investigating the incident.
